Service performance

At Great Homes Inspection Services, we adopt and apply national professional Standards of Practice in our inspection services for effective data gathering and reporting. We observe the professional Codes of Ethics of the various Associations of Home Inspectors when working with clients.

The purpose of the inspection is to provide you, the Client, with pertinent information on the home to inform your decisions. Our focus is on the safety and continued functionality of the House Systems and on reporting the more significant issues observed. The Home Inspector provides you with a verbal summary and a written report to highlight observed issues with the House Systems, and to recommended actions to address the issues.

The inspection is initiated with an Agreement between the Client and Great Homes Inspection Services Inc.

These features are included in your home inspection:

  • You are invited to accompany the inspector during the inspection to see the home
  • A home inspection performed in accordance with national standards of practice and code of ethics
  • A detailed visual inspection of the function of the major systems in the home
  • A running explanation by the inspector of any real or potential issues observed during the inspection
  • A verbal summary of the observations at the end of the on-site inspection
  • A written full report of the condition with related photographs, illustrations and recommendations; written in plain, easy to read English; and, delivered usually the same day but not later than the following day
